The exposition is for manufacturers and importers and for those involved in construction and public works at various levels, i.e. municipalities, contractors, industrial and service companies, architects and consultants. On the first two days, 8 and 9 March, it will be open for professionals only; over the weekend 10-11 March the public will also be welcome. About 23,000 guests attended the event in Laugardalshöll in 2016, at which about 100 companies, institutions and municipalities presented their products and services. Exhibitors included construction contractors, engineering consultancies, equipment-rental firms, schools, finance companies, consultants and municipalities.
“We are aware of a great deal of interest in the exposition,” says Ingibjörg Gréta Gísladóttir, Manager of Construct North 2018. “Last time it was a great success and participants were highly satisfied. Registration is open and is going well.” Ingibjörg says that as the Federation of Icelandic Industries has pointed out, it is very important for Iceland to attend to infrastructure of various types so as to prepare the ground for economic growth in the long term. Here, the construction industry has a key role to play.
A range of events will be held in conjunction with the exposition; details of these will be announced in due course. Registration for Construct North 2018 is open at www.verkogvit.is.
The managing agent of the exposition is AP Public Relations, in association with the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, the City of Reykjavík, the Federation of Icelandic Industries, BYKO and Landsbankinn.
